Barefoot spa 77LP Review
barefoot 77lp spa lights

Several lights in my barefoot 77LP spa were not working when I got it delivered last week. A total of 3 lights were completely out while the others worked fine, and changed colors all the way they’re supposed to. Other than the lights, the spa was working and still is working really well. It’s actually a lot better than I thought it would be. By better, I mean the pressure from the jets, and also the overall comfort while in the spa is way nicer than my old one. The spa is not the issue, its the customer service.

About the lights; I did the troubleshooting with barefoot spas tech line over the phone. As soon as I called, they made me verify my 77LP spa was hooked up to the electric panel properly. THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! Clearly my hot tub was hooked up properly. Otherwise, it wouldn’t work and none of the lights would work at all. Only three of the lights were out. Still, they insisted on me sending pictures of the connections and troubleshooting all this stuff. GIANT WASTE OF TIME. I told him the spa was working. All I was asking about was the lights and asked if there was a short or something. It was really frustrating having to go through all this!

Finally the next day, ANOTHER tech called me back, and we did the other troubleshooting. They made me take off the side panel of the hot tub and look in there. I didn’t want to do this. I didn’t want to do anything because I paid for my spa already and it comes with a warranty! However, the lead time on getting a service tech to my house was a few days because they are backed up. Busy season I guess?

Anyway, after all that, I looked in to the spa and saw where the lights connect to the lenses. They look like christmas tree lights. They are all strung together and in a line. Turns out the three that were not working, WERE ACTUALLY WORKING, but the light itself had FALLEN OUT OF THE LENS! It was an easy fix. I simply put the LED bulb back in the lens housing from the inside of the spa. Now it shines through the lens properly like it should.

To anyone reading this, take some time to look inside the panel of your hot tub. Call customer service as last resort. I understand they want to be thorough, but it took me half a day to jump through all the hoops, when if I just thought to take a look in there myself, I would’ve had it figured out in 5 minutes! Lesson learned!
